Help Make Choice a Reality for All Women
We at Choice in Health Clinic have been striving for over 20 years to provide accessible, reproductive health care services to all women. We are a non-profit independent health facility, licensed and funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Our highly-skilled team of counsellors, nurses and physicians provides high quality, compassionate, surgical and medication abortion care services, pregnancy options, birth control and post abortion counselling, as well as pregnancy assessments and follow-up medical care. We consider access to safe, quality abortion and contraceptive services to be a crucial step in the empowerment and equality of women.
While our services are free for women through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan, unfortunately not all women who seek our services have a valid Ontario health card. These women must pay $400 out of pocket for an abortion procedure. For immigrant and refugee women who have not had their status in Canada finalized, as well as Canadian women for whom Ontario is not their home province, this may mean that they are unable to access our services because they do not have the money. These same women may not be able to afford to purchase the birth control methods that would allow them to prevent future unwanted pregnancies.

In 2004, as an extension of our commitment to making reproductive health services accessible to all women, we started a fund, named in honour of our first Quality Advisor, Dr. Debby Copes. The Debby Copes Access Fund enables all women, regardless of their immigration or financial status, to control their reproductive health, by providing full or partial financial assistance to cover the cost of abortion procedures and birth control. To ensure that this assistance remains available to all women, we are asking for your help.
